When 14 year-old William s home in Malawi experienced a terrible drought, his family was left with nothing to eat or sell. Without food or the ability to go to school, William explored his town s library. With perseverance and grit, he came up with an idea that would change the lives of his family and town forever.
Using the memoir of William Kamkwamba in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, this session will explore integrating literacy, STEM, a dash of history, and social-emotional learning into the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for grades 5-8!
