NCCAT Math Badge series starts with Core Instruction Models
Exciting to have teachers from across North Carolina with us for Math Badge 1: Math Core Instruction Models in Cullowhee today. Math Badge 2: Strategies for Conceptual Teaching and Building Number Sense will take place tomorrow. NCCAT is holding a four-session series exploring best practices for K-5 math instruction. The instructional components shared in this series lead to strong classroom structures that embrace mathematical thinking and honor students’ instructional needs. National Board initial candidates work with NCCAT

Deeper dive into the Science of Reading program with NCCAT
Participants will delve into current Science of Reading research to support learning around the essential components of reading instruction. Our work will include discovering the tenets of structured literacy to ensure all children have access to effective reading instruction. Please join us as we spend quality time looking closely into best instructional practices that support the Science of Reading. This program is intended for classroom teachers in the kindergarten through the fifth-grade classroom.

NCCAT helps North Carolina teachers grow in knowledge, skills, compassion, and professionalism so that students become engaged, self-motivated, and successful. Martin County teacher receives NCCAT Scholarship
Congratulations to Paige Hart of Rodgers Elementary School in the Martin County Schools NC district on receiving the NCCAT Eugene and Jean Rogers Honored Educator Scholarship. It allows the Martin County Teacher of the Year to attend an NCCAT program of his or her choice. The scholarship covers all costs associated with your participation in an NCCAT program including: instruction; food and lodging on the NCCAT campus; program materials; travel to and from the campus from the teacher’s home and payment for the substitute teacher while they attend NCCAT.
Beginning Teachers program in Ocracoke

Thank you to these teachers from across North Carolina who joined us for "Success from the Start" in Ocracoke. Teachers developed their craft by understanding how to teach to the depth of their standards and differentiating for multiple levels of learners. Beginning educators had the opportunities to refine their teaching philosophies and class expectations. Within this seminar, teachers identified their most immediate needs for their classrooms, and time was spent exploring solutions to those needs. Great job! Thank you for all you do!
