An interested student reads because they enjoy it; a dedicated student reads because they believe it is important, and a confident student reads because they can do it. This program will examine classroom-ready tips to get young readers interested and excited about reading. CULLOWHEE - The North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) has added communication and collaborative tools for presenters and participants while they are on the Cullowhee campus. Teachers have the opportunity to learn from and use the state of the art technology in our Makerspace lab.

CULLOWHEE – Teachers from across North Carolina joined the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a recognized national leader in professional development, for “Achieving Against the Odds: Focus On Reading” during December 3-6.
CULLOWHEE—Gaston County teacher Kim Suddreth found the sharing of viewpoints and tools very beneficial during the "Project-Based Learning (PBL) in Digital Format" program recently at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a recognized national leader in professional development.
