Congratulations to Rocky Mount High School Art Teacher Paisley Cloyd on being nominated for the Life Changer Award! Paisley has been a great help in our grant writing programs with NCCAT faculty member Dr. Ernest Johnson.
We appreciate Jessica Caldwell, who teaches sixth grade math at Clyde Campbell Elementary School in Catawba County, telling us about how she took what she learned in a program led by NCCAT faculty member Deb Teitelbaum back to the classroom. Jessica adapted an activity from the program and had students create pictures from Ed Emberley's "Picture Pie." They then calculated the circles and fractions of circles of each color.
Congratulations to Pinkston Street Elementary School Principal Heddie Somerville. She was named the Principal of the Year recently in Vance County. We appreciate the work Principal Somerville and her school have done with NCCAT!
Congratulations to Vevlyn Lowe the Belk Foundation Honored Educator Scholar for 2015-16. She teaches at Sampson Middle School in the Clinton City Schools district.
