Get ready for the most widely anticipated astronomical event of the century! On Monday afternoon, August 21, 2017, all of North Carolina will experience a partial solar eclipse. Join the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a national leader in professional development, for a special program “Once in a Lifetime: Astronomy and Experience the Total Solar Eclipse” in Cullowhee August 20–21.
The Moon’s shadow will cross the continental U.S. for the first time since 1979. A sliver of the western part of the state will experience the total solar eclipse for nearly two and a half minutes. NCCAT’s Cullowhee campus is in the path of totality and is the perfect spot for viewing the phenomenon. Join us for a once in a lifetime program exploring some of the biggest misconceptions in astronomy and culminating with the experience of a total solar eclipse.
The program number is 14433.
