Twenty-seven educators from across North Carolina have been named finalists for the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT) 2025 Burroughs Wellcome Fund NC Beginning Teacher of the Year Award.
This workshop is designed to equip secondary educators with practical skills and creative strategies for integrating artificial intelligence into their literacy instruction. You'll discover how AI can transform your classroom.
Participants will engage in interactive and hands-on sessions diving into the world of Computer Science for all K-12 classrooms. Sessions will focus on developing digital fluency and problem-solving skills.

NCCAT will sponsor five teacher spots to attend the Holocaust Educator Seminar in Poland, scheduled for June 16-24, 2025. Most expenses for the trip, including flights, lodging, some meals, and activities, will be included. Selected participants would return with significant expertise in the fields of Holocaust and Genocide Education. Preference will be given to English and social studies high school educators. Teachers, take your professional development to the next level! Applications for the 2025–2026 NCCAT Honored Educator Scholarships (HES) are now open. These scholarships provide an exceptional opportunity for selected educators to attend an NCCAT seminar of their choice. An HES covers all costs associated with participation in a five-day NCCAT seminar, including program materials, instruction, food, lodging, transportation, and substitute teacher reimbursement. The honored educator also receives $250 for use in the classroom.
