December will be here before we know it, and when it comes NCCAT has come great professional development opportunities. From surviving and thriving in the 90-minute block to digital learning in K-2 grades there is a professional development opportunity for you. The overarching focus of these programs is to increase an educator's capacity to improve learning outcomes for all children.
A couple of December offerings are:
14012, Strategies for Surviving and Thriving in the 90-Minute Block
Dec 8-11 Cullowhee Designed for English language arts secondary teachers.
This program will engage teachers in several 90-minute blocks, providing them with mental models of what can be achieved during that time. Participants will then have the opportunity to plan their own block instruction and receive feedback from peers in a risk-free environment.
14013, Immersive Digital Learning in K-2 Classroom
Dec 14-17 Cullowhee
Learn how to create a learning space where digital tools are seamlessly integrated. Investigate free creation websites and storytelling apps, such as Sock Puppet and Toontastic. Research how to find virtual field trips and guest speakers that will motivate your students and transform your classroom. Inspire your students to become more engaged by creating an immersive digital learning environment.
