Designed for grades 3-8
Fraction work doesn’t have to be just another set of rules; students can experience true understandings of fractions. This program will help teachers develop strategies for teaching fractions that go beyond the rules. Teachers will collaborate to vertically align and make sense of problem-solving with fractions for conceptual understanding. Manipulatives and models will be explored that contribute to authentic understanding. In addition, teachers will experience how to use whole number properties when teaching fractions to develop deeper connections. This program is best designed for teachers in 3rd through 6th grades, teachers who work with exceptional children with this grade span content, as well as instructional coaches who work with math teachers.
