We hear the word “innovation” and often times we think about the newest and greatest technology. But what does “innovation” really mean for our students and our classrooms? During this Focus Friday we will explore many innovative techniques that can be integrated into content standards in the K-12 classroom in order to engage, motivate, and meet the needs of all of our students. Teachers will gain experience with Design Thinking, Game Based Learning, and Mixed Reality while keeping a focus on our content standards and empowering students to use divergent thinking to solve complex problems.
The Focus Friday programs offer teachers the opportunity to look into a variety of topics while at NCCAT, a recognized national leader in professional development programming for teachers, for a day. Come be a part of NCCAT’s daylong professional development session. Breakfast and lunch is included. A limited number of rooms are available if you need to arrive the night before. The programs will be at the NCCAT Cullowhee campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
