CULLOWHEE (March 9, 2016)—Governor Pat McCrory has appointed Jeffery (Jeff) T. Clark of Jacksonville and Robin M. Hiatt of Clayton to the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching (NCCAT), a recognized national leader in professional development programming for our state’s teachers.
Clark is the Chief Executive Officer of Jones-Onslow Electric Membership Corporation. The Dade City, Florida native has more than 40 years of experience working in the electrical cooperative industry. Mr. Clark came to Jones-Onslow in 2000 as the Manager of Finance & Accounting. In 2001 he was promoted to Vice President of Finance & Accounting and in 2002 to Chief Financial Officer. Jones-Onslow EMC is a member of Touchstone Energy®, an alliance of local, consumer-owned electric cooperatives across the country committed to providing superior service to all customers, large and small.
Hiatt started her 10th year as a third grade teacher at Powhatan Elementary School in Johnston County, and has been named the Clayton Chamber of Commerce Superstar Teacher. She trains fellow staff members in curriculum implementation and works on the county’s math curriculum units to improve student math success. After a trip to Alaska, Ms. Hiatt used the experience to engage students by involving them in the principles of the Iditarod race. Hiatt also is an NCCAT alumna. She has her National Board Certification.

Clark’s appointment term began February 16 and runs to October 31, 2019. Hiatt’s appointment term began February 25 and runs to June 30, 2019.
