CULLOWHEE (July 31, 2015)—Professional Educators of North Carolina (PENC) has established a method to help pay for substitute teachers for programs at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching.
PENC now offers its members a way to cover the cost of a substitute teacher for up to five school days while they attend a program at NCCAT, a recognized national leader in professional development programming for teachers. PENC, established in 1979, seeks to benefit all North Carolina children while ensuring the recruitment, development and retention of qualified educators. For more on PENC visit http://www.pencweb.org.
“We are grateful to PENC for helping us provide high-quality professional development to teachers across North Carolina with this grant to help with the cost of substitute teachers,” NCCAT Executive Director Dr. Richard Thompson said. “We continue to look at partnerships like this that help teachers attend our programs.”
