CULLOWHEE (July 28, 2014)—North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, a national leader in professional development for teachers, will provide area educators the opportunity to join an international professional development event on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
EdmodoCon will be available to area educators at the remote site on NCCAT’s Cullowhee campus. EdmodoCon is a live, online event that brings together educators from around the world for a full day of professional development, where teachers share, inspire and showcase the ways they use Edmodo and other digital tools in the classroom.
The event will kickoff with Edmodo’s Chief Product Officer, Nic Borg delivering the keynote. After that, educators around the globe will be selected to present. Topics include “Edmodo That! Ways to Connect and Learn,” “Solving D3: Data-Driven, Differentiated Instruction,” “So You Think You Know Your Students? Using Videos, Polls and Reflective Response to Inform Instruction.” For a schedule of presenters visit https://edmodocon.com/2014/#schedule.
NCCAT has been using Edmodo, often called the Facebook of teachers, in several programs to encourage teacher collaboration.
“NCCAT is happy to be part of this international professional development opportunity to provide high quality digital learning for North Carolina teachers,” said NCCAT Director of Programming Dr. Jonathan Wade.
