Exciting program going on at NCCAT Ocracoke now - "Creating and Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit." What is an entrepreneur? How do Family and Consumer Sciences Education and Business, Finance, and Marketing teachers help students explore connecting their creative interests to entrepreneurship? We will learn about career opportunities in a small tourist town and talk to business owners to learn how their entrepreneurial spirit launched their businesses. We will connect how learning local environments plays an important role in a successful business. Throughout the week, teachers will create a cross curricula project to utilize in their classrooms that addresses curriculum standards. Teachers will also learn how to engage and develop the entrepreneurial spirit with their students in a way that brings classroom skills to life. Today the group spoke with Eduardo of Eduardo's Taco Stand and other Ocracoke entrepreneurs on the challenges they have faced and how they have succeed. Thank you to these teachers for being with us and diving into this important topic to impact students. Appreciate the tweet by participant Regina Watkins.
