Do you need the professional development of an NCCAT seminar but can't afford to be out of the classroom? We have a solution for you...
At the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching, we work to give teachers the tools that they need in an environment that helps them to succeed and connect powerfully with other teachers. We've found that there are a large number of teachers who are not able to attend our face-to-face seminars and programs but who are looking for programming that connects to their needs.
NCCAT Online is available to all public school instructional personnel (including charter schools) at no additional cost to you or your district.
NCCAT Online Mini Courses
NCCAT Online Mini Courses are short modules that cover specific content areas. After successfully completing these courses, your course submissions will be reviewed, and, upon successful completion of the requirements, you will be sent a statement of completion that will recommend between .25 and .5 CEUs in the appropriate area of study. These courses are available for self-study.
NCCAT Online Standard Instructor-Led Courses
NCCAT Online Standard Courses are instructor led 4-8 week courses covering specific groups of skills and/or body of knowledge. You will be enrolled with teachers from around the state and will be led and guided by a knowledgeable master teacher. Each course will state in its description the number of CEUs that will be suggested upon completion.

A method that is gaining considerable attention and showing promise in engaging students is "gamification." Gamification, at its core, is the process of substituting the rules of standard grading by structuring course work and course outcomes in a way that is connected to a story.

Take advantage of this opportunity to become familiar with personalized learning and gamification in a state-of-the-art learning system that integrates elements of gameplay in every learning interaction. All participants will have one month of complete teacher-level access to the 3DGamelab environment.
Participants who complete this 40 hour professional development experience will get a recommendation from NCCAT that their LEAs award 4 CEUs in Digital Learning. We anticipate all spaces being filled, so apply as soon as you can.
