We would like to thank all those who have donated to the 2014-2015 Annunal Fund campaign. The effort helps support NCCAT programming, and in particular, to raise money to pay for substitute teachers. As of April 23, 2015, the campaign stands at a net amount of $16,455.61 or 183 days of subs ($90/day).

The Petty family have been great friends of NCCAT over the years, including an Honored Educator Scholarship in the name of racing legend Richard Petty's wife Lynda. Congratulations to Richard Petty on his being honored with joint resolutions in the General Assembly and a declaration of “Richard Petty Day” by Gov. Pat McCrory today.

Thanks to the Petty family for all they have done and continue to do for North Carolina!

Help NCCAT help teachers

Thanks to your support, NCCAT alumni continue to be more effective teachers and, subsequently, their students are better prepared for life.

Take for instance, NCCAT alumna, Virginia Spaventa, who teaches ESL students at Frank Morgan Elementary in Winston-Salem/Forsyth Schools. She had a challenge:

- Her student population needed help in accessing homework. She decided to attend the NCCAT seminar, Catching up with your Students: Digital Learning

- She learned to create electronic homework to adapt classroom assignments into an easy-to-use format for mobile phones
