On National Teacher Day, the Kenan Fellows Program for Curriculum and Leadership Development is pleased to announce its 2016–17 fellowship awards for K–12 educators. Forty-one teachers from across North Carolina have been selected from a pool of more than 130 highly-qualified applicants.

Timing Matters: Getting the Most Bang for Your Teaching Buck

The human brain can only process a limited amount of direct instruction. By timing your lessons appropriately, you can maximize the amount of material your students remember and minimize the amount of reteaching you have to do. Dr. Dr. Deb Teitelbaum goes over this in a video from the NCCAT Beginning Teacher Support Program series at www.nccat.org.

NCCAT alumnus named NC Outstanding 9-16 Educator in Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education

Ben Owens, a physics and mathematics teacher at Tri-County Early College High School in Murphy, was recognized as the NC Outstanding 9-16 Educator in Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education by the NC SMT Education Center. He has been a presenter, participant and great friend to NCCAT. Congratulations Ben!
